The Learning Model

Treehouse Learning functions as a hybrid between active nature exploration and intentional, high-level educational strategy. Instead of abstract worksheets or online assignments, executive function concepts are embedded organically into exploration & discovery within the outdoor classroom. Seven “rings” of learning encircle the core of basic traditional academic concepts, offering students opportunities to develop all facets of heart, mind, body & soul at an individual pace. This model uproots the traditional approach to schooling, focusing on growth over grades.

Launching in late September, Treehouse is thrilled to offer 8-week learning opportunities to families. These sessions will pilot the format, provide field research, offer firsthand feedback and generate enthusiasm for growth. 

Moving forward, expanded learning opportunities will include week-long and multi-week adventures, focused content for homeschool groups, field trips for local schools, meet ups at local parks or preserves, and parent-child weekend ventures. Treehouse is also eager to explore onsite educator training to help teachers utilize outdoor learning in their context.
